Accounting Career

During the college recruiting season, we look for organized, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individuals who enjoy challenges. A staff accountant is responsible for assisting in compilations, reviews, and audits; as well as completing various types of tax returns.

Duties also include aiding clients in general ledger functions, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and completing research projects.

A common question among prospective staff members is “what is a typical day for a staff accountant at Pasquesi Sheppard LLC?” There is no typical day due to the variety of work and clients.

Our clients consist of high-net-worth individuals, small to midsized closely-held companies, trusts, estates, as well as not-for-profit entities.

Pasquesi Sheppard LLC has an open door policy, which encourages new staff members to ask questions of anyone in the firm at any time. We want you to use all of the available resources in order to aid your professional development.

Tax season begins in the middle of January and runs through April 15th. A first year staff member can expect to average 55 hours per week. Compilation, reviews, and audits are performed for those clients with December 31 year ends.

Our summer busy season runs from mid-July through mid-September. This consists of performing compilations, reviews and audits for our clients with June 30 year ends. These clients are mainly not-for-profit clients such as churches, schools and various charitable organizations.

Celebrations occur throughout the year with an April 15th party, a summer outing, and a holiday party. Other benefits include 20 days personal time off, 401(k) plan, profit sharing, sponsored continuing education, health and life insurance and competitive salary.

We are steps away from the Lake Forest Metra. Currently, Pasquesi Sheppard LLC recruits mainly through college programs. Please do not submit resumes online.
